The Brief
Working alongside their builder on a large new extension, the Doe family wanted us to create a kitchen with a modern look and sleek lines running into a contemporary living area. Although not the main dining room for the house, it did need to incorporate some where the family could eat.
The Solution
Using high gloss white units helped to reflect the light that was coming in from large bi-fold doors and skylight. By keeping the units handle-less and the worktops in a white smooth Matt Corian helped to give a modern sleek look. Then the introduction of a real wood breakfast bar (situated at table height) helped add a warmer element. With the hob situated on the island in the middle of the room the extractor needed to be powerful and efficient without getting in the way, therefore the ceiling extractor was a perfect fit. Finally the mirrored glass splash backs gave the narrower room a feeling of width.
