The Brief
The Smith Family, Based in Penn, were looking to update their kitchen space. They already had a large AGA in the kitchen and the rest of the room needed to based around this. Although the size of the kitchen wasn’t changing, extra storage whilst maintaining the feeling of space was important.
The Solution
A large chimney mantel with rustic stone brick splash back helps show off the AGA. Then to tie in with this, we use traditional pilaster style panels. The slightly narrower island with curved corners on the worktop helped keep the walkways feeling spacious. Having the tall larders surrounding the American Fridge Freezer and tall worktop dressers help increase the storage and give a home to small on-counter appliances.
Finally a strong color on the island furniture with a beautiful solid dark wooden worktop created an interesting feature for the room.
